Dr. Tim Rayner, Senior Research Associate tyndall@uea.ac.uk www.tyndall.ac.uk Dr. Tim Rayner, Senior Research Associate tyndall@uea.ac.uk Integrated interdisciplinary climate change research since 2000 Led by University of East Anglia (UEA), consortium of 8 UK Universities and Fudan University, Shanghai UEA led the FP6 ADAM project; partners in MATISSE, FP7 LIAISE, RESPONSES, CLAMER CLAMER? Climate Change and Marine Ecosystem Research Results

We offer: Community Integrated Assessment System (CIAS) Describes global economic system, greenhouse gas emissions, climate, impacts. Globally unique in allowing component modules to share data and be coupled together to function as unique integrated models. Adaptation Theory and Assessment Insights and methods from across the natural and social sciences to investigate options and constraints on action towards sustainable and equitable adaptation to climate change. Governance Investigates policy, political and governance aspects of climate change at multiple levels, from global to local, and across sectors. Geoengineering Interdisciplinary assessment of geoengineering options, evaluating physical, environmental, social and technical issues. CIAS .... Geoengineering Drawing upon the breadth of expertise at the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia, GEAR aims to investigate the range of geoengineering ideas proposed from a number of disciplinary standpoints. To date We have already presented a first order assessment of the maximum cooling potential of different geoengineering options, see publications. .. Next steps The next stages of research activity aim to investigate the relevant climate science, including cooling potential, side effects and experimental work, economics, governance and public perception. Additionally through our outreach and engagement with the engineering community, research on technology and engineering assessment.
