Inquiry Based Approach to Student Learning Social Studies Department

Concept Mapping with Inspirations What do you know and wonder about the topic? Generate questions (general topic) Which of these questions are best/most powerful questions? What about them makes them a good question? How can we make all questions better? Developed, developing and under developed. Parking lot strategy.

Criteria for a Good Question? Not a yes/no answer Can’t google it but is researchable Provokes deep thought Original thought No right or wrong answer May not have an answer Encourages critical thinking – analysis and synthesis Can be viewed through multiple lenses/perspectives
