Moose By logan and Kendra

What it looks like The moose is a mammal so it have fur. It have black and brown fur. When a moose is born it have reddish brown fur. A moose is the largest animal in the deer family. It is around 2 meters tall and 3m long. Its antlers can be 2m wide or longer. The moose has long legs like stilts. It has a big head and a short neck. It has a short tail. It has a long piece of skin that hangs from its neck. It also have a humped shoulders. The special part is the antlers.

Food and How it moves Moves The moose moves by walking on tall skinny legs or swimming. Food The moose is a herbivore. It like to eat grass, green leaves. It like to eat the twigs. It the lake they eat water plants like lily pads. In the winter they sometimes eat the bark of trees.

Habitat [ home] Winter The moose live in northern Canada. It lives in forests. They like to live by a stream or lake. They go in the lake or stream to escape from enemies and insects. In the winter the moose's goes in groups. They DO NOT hibernate. The moose lose there antlers for the winter. When the food is scarce they eat the bark off the trees.

Enemies and the life cycle The moose is a very big animal. Its enemies are wolves, bears, wolverines and people. Life cycle The females are called cows, the males are bulls and the babies are called calves. A female have one or two calves a year. They have them in the spring. When they are around 2 weeks old they can run and walk.
