Targets, Assessment, QPG and reporting Jill Readings Deputy Headteacher

How do we set targets? Targets are based on KS2 scores, or CATS if no KS2 data Students are put into sets based on targets At this stage, students are given a year 11 target and are banded into Band QPG colour KS2 score yr 11 target High - Platinum 110+ 7-9 Upper Middle - Gold 103-109 4-6 Lower Middle - Silver 95-102 4 Lower - Bronze <94 3+

What is a QPG? A subject specific Success Table Shows what a student should be able to do to be working on target and what they need to do to work above target. Can be used by students to self-assess their work Can be used by teachers to mark and set targets for improvement Should be stuck in every student book Examples on the school website for parent to see.

What do reports look like?

Progress indicators on Reports T+ Student’s current standard of work, if built upon, is likely to lead to them exceeding their target T Student’s current standard of work, if built upon, is likely to lead to them meeting their target T- Student’s current standard of work, needs development if they are to meet their target grade but is NOT a concern at this stage. C Student’s current standard of work is a cause for concern and, if sustained, is very likely to lead to them failing to meet their target grade. The reason for the concern will appear on the report .

Commitment to Learning on Reports 1 Outstanding 2 Good 3 Requires Improvement 4 Inadequate

Reports will be posted on the SLG learning gateway The SLG is accessed via secure log-in on the school website. Please ensure we have your email addresses so that we can keep you informed about how to access this. Paper copies are available on request.
