5.01 Properties of exponents Base is multiplied 3 times because of the exponent

Pay attention to negative bases Pay attention to negative bases. If the negative is inside the parentheses, multiply the negative number the number of times the exponent states. If the negative is outside or there are no parentheses, multiply your final answer by (-1).
