CER Papers Consultation paper on proposed changes to WPDRS & Powersave. Closing date for responses is the 25th Sept. Publish decision paper on 1st Oct. Proposed decision paper on ESB PES STOD tariffs for LEU’s from 1st Oct 2008 – Sept 2009. Closing date for responses is the 19th Sept. Decision paper on PES allowable costs to be pubished. (Provisional date 19th Sept).

Smart Metering Minister announcement. Recruitment phase for pilot commenced. 2000 recruitment letters circulated. Further 3000 letters sent out on 16th Sept. Further 55,000 letters to be circulated. ESB Networks announced selection of smart meter vendors. Notice on http://www.ojec.com/ Successful vendors cover four main communications technology types that will be trialled Examing functionality requirements for prepayment market model. Next Steering Group meeting 23rd October.

SIG NIAUR published the Transmission Charging Statement for 2008/09, for use of the Electricity Transmission System in Northern Ireland. Includes: • The System Support Services Tariff • Demand Transmission Use of System Charges • Generator Transmission Use of System Charges Publication of a joint energy retail competition and five year corporate strategy document.

AOB Meeting with Dept of Social & Family Affairs to discuss Free Electricity Allowance and arrange a date for workshop.
