Changes Over Time

It’s exciting to be a part of a changing world! Coming Up Texas during annexation Oil Boom Civil War Reconstruction Weather and Climate You are a part of our changing world. As you focus on ten health objectives that emphasize social and emotional health and well-being, you can see how!

Your state has changed tremendously! Did you know? Texas has experienced many changes when the railroad arrived, cities and industries developed, and farmers moved farther west. Texas became a state in 1845, and oil was discovered in 1900.

In fact, Texas’ government has changed! Really? After being a state for only 16 years, Texans, who wanted to keep their slaves, decided to join the Confederate States of America. You can see how it has changed by exploring the changes in Texas government after the discovery of oil.

Change is always around us! Be a Meteorologist Researching how clouds are formed and investigating the role the sun has in the creation of winds offer a challenge. You can review the states of matter and how they are measured as well as learn about Earth's atmosphere and how it affects climate and weather.

How can changes in our world be both positive and negative? Since you were born, what things in your life have remained the same and what things have changed? What conditions cause changes in weather? How did history, leadership, economics, government, science and technology, and culture help shape life in Texas between 1845 and 1900? Guiding Questions
