Halloween

Halloween is a tradition from Northern Europe; it is a time when magic is most powerful and spirits can make contact with the physical world. In Christian times, it became a celebration of the evening before  All Saints’ Day.

The  Jack- o’-lantern was popularized in Ireland, where turnips or beets were supposedly used. It may be derived from the medieval Christian practice of soul lights and is thought to represent souls of the dead.
