Call Numbers For all Nonfiction books A “Call number” is a group of numbers and a letter after it. Lets a librarian know where to put a book, and lets YOU know where to find it! Located on “spine” of each book Examples: 456.2345 D, 123.7 T, 001 A, 222.3 F *Think of it as a book’s “phone number” to “call” it Note: Can also think of it as a book’s address; where the book “lives” on the shelves 12/2/2018 S. Cagno - ILS 503 - SCSU

000’s (000 to 099) Section Computers, the Supernatural & Unexplained, and Encyclopedias Like UFOs, psychics, ghosts, aliens, ect 12/2/2018 S. Cagno - ILS 503 - SCSU

Biographies B Kennedy B Anthony B Bonaparte H Unlike the other sections, this one doesn’t have numbers, just the letter “B” and then the famous person’s last name. For example: B Kennedy B Anthony Note: There will usually be a letter after the subject’s last lame, that is the first letter of the last name of the author of the book itself. Note: should be able to find biographies after 900’s Note: Some Libraries use 92 to designate biographies B Bonaparte H 12/2/2018 S. Cagno - ILS 503 - SCSU

Note: and remember, if you ever need help, don’t be afraid to ask the librarian – that’s what we’re here for! 12/2/2018 S. Cagno - ILS 503 - SCSU
