Instructions for Thursday 12/8/16 Today you will have work time on your outlines & get feedback on your initial thesis statement Do the thesis first, then the outline Trade thesis statements and give notes (see the next slide for instructions) Go through the PowerPoint regarding outlining and read how you are supposed to make a 3 level outline Look at the example of the 3 level outline Start on your 3 level outline Remember that your 3 level outline is due on Monday 12/12/16 Also remember that your 2nd thesis statement is due tomorrow, make sure you make changes after your partner gives you notes. Mr. Anderson should stamp your research.

Peer Review – Thesis Statements Trade thesis statements with someone at your table group Read their thesis statements and look for the following qualities in their thesis statement Is it one sentence? Does it create an argument? Does it address the prompt? Is multiple part thesis statement or a more advanced thesis statement? Is the thesis statement too wordy? Does it have a “so what?” Once you have assessed the thesis statement give them quality notes on the thesis refinement sheet Give notes on the above things that you assessed Make sure you are being respectful and giving quality feedback This should only take a few minutes, once you are finished get started on your outline work
