Nucleosome in Ms. Willson’s words (rememeber it needs to be in YOUR OWN words. A nucleosome is a structure of proteins (i.e. made of multiple proteins) that attracts and winds DNA. A nucleosome aids in the condensing of DNA into chromatin and chromosomes.

How many of each protein are there? Each sphere is an amino acid. The amino acids come together to make a protein. As a result there are: 8 different shades of colors 2 of each type of protein (i.e. H3, H2A, H2B, and H4)

Do you see the tails? Remember how I mentioned gene expression… More to come on this :)

Lysine and arginine in space fill Lys and Arg are amino acids (A.A are the monomer for proteins remember) so they are found in Histones. There are a lot of Lys and Arg. Why might this be? (hint lys and arg are positively charged and DNA is negative)
