Earth Science Mrs. Poarch Supplies Instructional Resources Contact Me: What we learn: Earth & Space Science with an emphasis on the interactions and relationships in systems. Includes astronomy, hydrology, meteorology, and geology. We also look at the application of engineering principles in science. Participation & Preparation: Students are expected to come to class prepared with all materials and assignments. Once in class, students are expected to participate in discussions, activities, and investigations. Participation also includes following classroom procedures for science safety, acquiring, disposing of, and cleaning up materials, appropriate voice levels during group work and class discussion, and other procedures necessary for an efficient and safe classroom that are in place. Levels of participation and preparation are tracked and a daily grade will be given each week based on this. Late and Make-up Work: All student work is due when called for. Any work not turned in at this time will be counted late. Late work will be docked 10 points per school day late. It is the responsibility of the student to get work for both planned and unplanned absences. Generally speaking, work missed during planned absences is due upon return to school. For unplanned absences, students have one day for each day absent to make up the work. For special circumstances, changes will be made at the discretion of the teacher. Classroom Procedures: A complete explanation of Form 6 science classroom procedures may be found in the student science binder. Test & Project Due Dates: Tuesdays & Fridays are the assigned days for tests and projects in science.
