ARCNET (Attached Resource Computer NETwork): The first local area network that connected up to 255 nodes in a star topology at 2.5 Mbps over twisted pair or coax.

Baseband refers to a single channel(either analog or digital) which occupies the entire bandwidth of a system's medium. Broadband refers to multiple channel transmissions (either analog or digital) in which each channel occupies a portion of the medium's bandwidth. ARCNET (Attached Resource Computing Network) is a baseband token ring network system that offers flexible star or bus topologies at a low price. * Slow transmission speed 2.5 Mbits/sec * Cable length up to 2000 feet
