Parental Involvement Policy & Parent Compact Title I regulations require that each school served under Title I jointly develop with and distribute to parents of participating children, a written involvement policy agreed on by the parents that describes the requirements of SEC. 1118. Additionally, each school receiving funds under Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) must develop a written school-parent compact jointly with parents for all children participating in Title I, Part A activities, services, and programs. 

JONESBORO HIGH SCHOOL “IS NON DESIGNATED” I am very proud to tell you that Jonesboro High School has not been given a school designation this year, which means we are continuing to provide a quality education to all of our students.

Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS) CCGPS are anchored in college-and –career-ready expectation and were designed to ensure all students progress to the college-and career-ready level by the end of high school. Georgia Milestones (new) – The test is a norm and criterion referenced test that will assess a student’s performance regarding the standards he or she were exposed.  Additionally, there are normed questions embedded that will allow for a comparison between the student and their peers across the nation.  This will allow for a reliable and valid score that will yield a score that will indicate a  student’s college and career readiness. Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) – This is a criterion referenced tests that will measure a child’s growth in a class based on his or her pre and post test scores.  This test is developed locally and is solely based on the CCGPS standards that are reflected in our local curricula.

Jonesboro Title I School Wide Plan Our Title I school-wide plan focus on serving all students, improving all structures that support student learning, and combing all resources as allowed to achieve a common goal. We have come up with a comprehensive strategy design to upgrade the entire education program Our primary goal is to make sure that all students demonstrate proficient and advance levels of achievement on state academic achievement standards. With doing so we have: Created a planning committee Created a comprehensive plan Conducted annual review meeting of the effectiveness of the school- wide plan and revised the plan as necessary Conducted a compressive needs assessment

Programs & Support JHS teachers offer tutorial hours afterschool Lunch and Learn sessions that offer tier 2 support for all students Study hall for all athletes Cram Jams/Workshop Sessions to support standardized tests Web-based interfaces such as Edmodo to extend/support learning after school hours
