Print Ad Deconstruction By Bramty Haynes

Context a). Who has created this message? People trying to sell this product b). Who is the target audience? Anyone and everyone c). Why was this message sent? To persuade people to try out this new product d). In what magazine is this ad found? It was found in People magazine

Creative Techniques a). Color and Design -It grabs your attention because the background is a tie dye color and it has bright colors that will make you look at it -My eye caught the right center middle of the background because it was bright and colorful -The ad is not TOO complicated, you will understand it, and it’s just normal. It’s not plain and it’s not busy. It’s just right -The layout yes indeed is effective because its an eye grabber -Photoshop was mainly used to construct this ad b). Language -When I read this, the thing I think of is a rainbow because of all the colors. It makes me feel happy, and energetic because of the colors. When I look at the pictures it makes me feel like if they’ve chosen a side for me to pick, so I would have to go with what there advertising c). Appeal The Slice of Life Appeal

Subtext -The advertiser wants us to feel like we have to buy it so we wont have the problem of carrying all these pens around when we can just carry one -We like everything to be easy, and that’s how he’s wanting us to buy the product by just buying this one pen so we don’t have to carry a lot of pens with us

Accuracy -Everything is true about this ad, nothing is false -I’m pretty sure everyone is going to understand this ad the same way. Some people might think its stupid, others might not. But everyone is going to understand its meaning in the same way.

Maslow -I think the Maslow’s theory Hierarchy of needs is the Aesthetic needs, Symmetry, and order because the product helps solve a problem of not having to carry a lot of different colored pens when you can just carry one.
