Annexation of Hawaii

The Republic After the overthrow Hawaii became a Republic. Still a not part of US. Stanford B. Dole became its President. The Republic was created when annexation talks failed.

Blount Report President Cleveland sent James Blount to investigate Hawaii. He was investigating if the US Sailors were necessary. Blount found Overthrow Illegal.

Report …But for the notorious predilections of the United States Minister for Annexation (John L. Stevens), the Committee of Safety, which should be called the Committee of Annexation, would have never existed. But for the landing of the United States forces upon false pretexts respecting the danger to life and property the committee would never have exposed themselves to the pains and penalties of treason by undertaking the subversion of the Queen's Government…

Counter Revolution 1895 Lasted only three days Led by Robert Wilcox who also led other rebellions. 500 insurgents three major battles happen in Diamond Head, Moiliili and Manoa . Aftermath- Lili’uokalani is arrested for 5 years. Fined $5,000 ($142,857.14 In 2014)
