WEIGHT MANAGEMENT PRODUCT PHARMACOTHERAPY 1) XENICAL - orlistat 120mg - fat absorption inhibitor A) HOW DOES IT WORK - form covalent bond with lipase - inactivate lipase - allows 33% of fat to pass thru gut undigested

B) WHEN TO START TREATMENT - loss 2.5kg in 4 weeks thru diet. C) WHEN TO DISCONTINUE TREATMENT - loss 5% in body weight within 12 weeks - after 2 years

D) HOW TO TAKE - 1 cap before or after meal 3 times daily E) WHO ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE - pregnant mother - breast-feeding mother - children
