Spot the Difference How good are your eyes?

Can you spot the difference between the goats in each photo? The regular dairy goat is in the photo on the left and the spider goats are in the photo on the right. When asked to spot the difference, students might determine that the goats in the right photo have chains for collars or ear tags; however, there are no real distinguishing physical differences between the goats in each photo. Once you have discussed the term “transgenic” with students and discussed spider goats, point out the fact that spider goats look and act just like regular goats but the difference is found in their DNA. The milk from spider goats contains a silk-making protein from spiders. Can you spot the difference between the goats in each photo?
