المد العارض هو أن يقع بعد حرف المد أو حرف اللين ساكن عارض لأجل الوقف وسمي عارضا لتعرض الحرف الأخير في الكلمة للسكون نتيجة الوقف لأنه لو وصل لصار مدا طبيعيا. وحكمه : يجوز فيه ثلاثة أوجه : القصر حركتان, والتوسط أربع حركات, والإشباع ست حركات مثال ذلك (الحمد لله رب العالمين). The Exposed Lengthening (Madd Aridh) ( مد عارض للسكون ) occurs when the letter of lengthening and of ease are followed by a non-vowelled letter exposing it to a stop. It is called exposed because it exposes the last letter in the word to sukoon, because if the reader were to continue it would become an original lengthening ( مد طبيعي ). Three rules are optional in this case: Shortening two counts, moderation to four counts, and saturation to six counts Example: ( seen in the picture ).

شروط المد العارض للسكون Conditions of Madd ‘arid liskoon وجود حرف المد قبل آخر حرف في الكلمة تأتي الحركة التي تسبق حرف المد تناسب حرف المد، كالحرف المضموم قبل حرف المد ”الواو“ مثل غفُور، والحرف المفتوح قبل حرف المد ”الألف“، مثل ”العقَاب“، والحرف المكسور قبل حرف المد ”الياء“، ”خبِير“ في حالة الوقف، نحو (العقاب، غفور، خبير) حكمه جواز مده من حركتين إلى أربع إلى ست حركات، أما في حالة الوصل فحركتان فقط، إذ يصبح في هذه الحالة مداً طبيعياً. There are a few conditions that must be applied in case of (Mad ‘arid) It is only applied in cases where we chose to stop at the word, and is only applied in the last word that we stop on, only if the rest of the conditions existed: The existence of Madd letter (i.e. vowels) (ا ، و ، ي ) before the very last letter The (haraka) that comes before the letter of Madd has a suitable (haraka) Meaning: if we have a a “و” ( Waw) letter of Madd the (Haraka) coming before it on whatever letter is (damma) such as ( غفُور) If the letter of Madd was an (alif), the letter before it has to have a “fat’ha” such as ”غفَار“ If the letter of Madd was a (ya), the letter before it has to have a “Kasra”, such as “خبير”
