This term we have been learning about the Stone Age Period

In groups we decided what we wanted to find out. We made mind maps to record our questions and ideas. This is a picture of our planning board.

We started our topic by thinking about the Stone Age setting of the Flintstones. We observed similarities and differences. We asked lots of questions. Was prehistoric Britain really like that?

We researched our topic and made a word bank of things to do with prehistoric times and created Wordles

In literacy we are reading Stig of the Dump and using it to stimulate our writing. We imagined we were Barney and wrote a diary about our adventures with Stig.

We have also written a non- chronological report about Life in the Stone Age.

In history we have learnt a lot about the Stone Age period In history we have learnt a lot about the Stone Age period. We have learnt about the different homes, cave paintings, food and tools We have found out about a Stone Age village in Scotland called Skara Brae.

We have transformed our book corner . We have tried to made it look like a stig’s cave!

We have researched cave drawings and tried to make some of our own for our display and to cover our topic books. We have also created a prehistoric clay figure called The Thinker.

To help us learn the months of the year in Spanish, we update El Calendario each day. This term someone will get to take home our Spanish puppet Juan Pequeño to practice their Spanish.

This term we have started swimming lessons This term we have started swimming lessons. We really enjoy going and are working hard to improve our swimming.

We have also made fossils out of plaster of Paris. Our topic in Science is about rocks & fossils. We have been investigating different types of rocks. We carried out an investigation to test the hardness and permeability of rocks. We have also made fossils out of plaster of Paris.

We have just started to learn about Stonehenge and will be making information leaflets. We will also make our own Stonehenge to go in our Porthole to the Past.

In art we created self-portraits in the style of Picasso

…and have developed our drawing skills by sketching different rocks.

In music we have been listening to and comparing different styles of music. We have enjoyed learning ‘Let your spirit fly’ by Joanna Mangona. We would like to sing it for you now.

We have enjoyed sharing our work with you. …for listening!
