All About Me This is my husband, Dirk, and me in downtown Grand Rapids.

All About Me This is a picture of our dog, Jersey. He is quite a bit older now, but I don’t have any recent pictures. He was supposed to be a hunting dog for Dirk, but he is terrified of loud noises, so he doesn’t go hunting!

All About Me I have two sisters, Diane and Marci. They live in Michigan, and my mom lives in Wisconsin. This picture was taken a few years ago, at my mom’s house. It’s not one of my favorites, but it’s one of the few photos of all of us together!

All About Me This is a picture of my nephews and twin nieces at Christmas last year.

All About Me My favorite season is summer. I like it because it is a time to relax because we have a break from school. I also LOVE hot temperatures and being able to spend a lot of time outside!

All About Me I am on a bowling league, but I am a horrible bowler. Actually, I am not very good at any sports!

A Day in My Life What I do most days

A Day in My Life After having a few cups of coffee, I head off to school. This is a picture of some of my students working in groups.

A Day in My Life After school I often stop off at the store to pick up groceries, usually stuff for dinner.

A Day in My Life When I get home from school I walk on my treadmill for about an hour. This is a picture of the view I have as I walk. Some days I really have to convince myself that this is a good idea!

A Day in My Life After walking on the treadmill I cook dinner. I often get frustrated…and hope I don’t start the house on fire!

A Day in My Life I read almost every night before I go to bed. Some nights I am able to stay awake longer than others!

My Environment Michigan’s land, climate, and activities

My Environment Our area has a lot of lakes and rivers. There are some hills, but for the most part our land is quite flat. This is a picture of a lake in northern Michigan, in a town called Ludington.

My Environment We also have a very, very large lake about 45 minutes from Grand Rapids. Lake Michigan seems like an ocean when you’re standing on its shores because you can’t see to the other side. This is a picture of a beach on the shore of Lake Michigan.

My Environment We have four seasons in Michigan. Our winters are very cold and snowy, but our summers are warm. Many people also enjoy fall and spring because the temperatures are mild – nor too hot and not too cold. My favorite season is summer! This is a picture of my nephew all bundled up for ice skating.

My Environment There are also many rivers in Michigan, and woods, like the ones in the back of this picture.

My Environment Because we have many lakes, people enjoy boating, water-skiing, inner-tubing, and fishing in the summertime.

My Environment This is my husband fishing on a small lake near our house.

My Environment It’s important to bundle up in warm clothes during the winter. We don’t always go outside for recess in winter because it takes too long to get all of our winter gear on. People enjoy skiing and sledding in the winter. I prefer to stay inside and keep warm!

My Environment This is the small town I live in – Lowell, Michigan. It’s about a half hour from Grand Rapids, which is where I teach. This picture is of Main Street.

My Environment This is my neighborhood. This was taken in the summer. In the winter the streets are usually covered with snow and there aren’t any leaves on the trees.
