Technological Design Process Testing Evaluation

Steps Design Brief Research or Investigations Possible solutions Chosen solution Developmental work( Begin to create product) Testing Evaluation

Design Brief Problem Statement: Identifies the problem Ex: Design and create a toy for the toys for tots drive Specifications: Guidelines for the product design Ex: The toy must be able to withstand where and tear from a child between the ages of 6-12

Investigation Research Possible materials Appeal of the product Includes pictures and captions

Possible Solutions Sketch 4 Ideas from brainstorm Develop a list of Pros & Cons for each sketch

Chosen Solution Explanation Choice based on the Pro’s & Con’s Justify/Explain choice Explanation As a team we decided to use the yo-yo as are final design. The yo-yo offers a great deal of joy to a young child and even to some adults. The yo-yo could help to develop a child’s hand eye coordination. We also chose it because of the simple manufacturing.

Developmental Photos of steps Captions explaining steps Example Here I am using a hole saw to cut out the sides of the yo-yo. Example Here I am attaching both sides with a dowel rod.

Testing Test product for function Durability

Evaluation Product Evaluation: Self Evaluation (Group) Highlights the good parts of a product and identifies the areas for improvement Gives a starting point for modifications Identifies who did what task in the group Evaluates how well you worked as a team Self Evaluation (Group)
