School in Kenya By:Fabs and Emma

Masai background The Masai are one of the most well known of Kenya’s 42 tribes The general health of the community is poor Women are encouraged to, and typically do, give birth each year The Masai continue to rely on the traditional staples: milk, blood, and meat for their nutrition.

Ed colina Ed colina has been involved in education for 26 years Traveling to Africa, Ed volunteered with a renowned organization and NGO Nyumbani Nyumbani has constructed a Kamba village for 1000 children and 250 grandparents In February of 2008,n Ed began his solo projects to aid poor Masai women and children living in Athi River, Kenya

Why we should build a school The nearest school is 8 kilometer walk away Many Masai children do not go to school until the age 10 or 11, if at all. Few children reach the 8th grade Girls are farther disadvantage The kids who reach 8th grade the must attend sub-standard schools with poor teaching and low quality facilities.

eLUAAI This is where we’re going to build the school

The school This school will cost up to more than 2,000 dollars It’ll also provide the children with 1 meal a day They’re temporary school is held at the current church Highlands kENYA

Preschool children in the community who don’t attend school

Will you help build a school for these children?
