What is it that you are looking for out of life? What are you expecting? Expect things that life cannot deliver Can’t be happy unless something changes: I’m taller or shorter I have straight hair, or curly, or more of it I have some other color hair
What is it that you are looking for out of life? Can’t be happy unless life goes perfectly: They want no stress They want no concerns They want no effort The American Dream Many pursue riches & possessions Bigger house, newer car, nicer clothes, etc. Some chase after fun – recreation Some use drugs & alcohol – escape
What is it that you are looking for out of life? The American Dream Do whatever feels good at the moment Want to be entertained – escape realities of life Some want to better themselves Work hard, study hard, lots of effort, but often without a particular goal to achieve They get excited about something new, but then they have no use for it
Isn’t that what we have in our society? We have wealth and possessions today that centuries ago could not be imagined We have more ways to have fun than can be tried in a life time We have endless opportunities to better yourself Yet, why is our society so filled with people who aren’t satisfied with life?

The Purpose of Life God put us here to enjoy life while serving Him – Ecclesiastes 11:9 – 12:1 Ecclesiastes 12:13,14 We can only serve one Master- Matthew 6:24 True happiness results when God’s purpose is put first – Matthew 6:33 Laws based on concept of love – Matthew 22: 36:39 God designed life to be about serving God and our fellow man
The Purpose of Life Loving God means obeying Him- John 14:21 Laws guide us in the ways that make life best- Deuteronomy 10:12,13 Happiness comes when we choose to be content with life – 1 Timothy 6:6-10 When we are pursuing the wrong thing, just when we think we’ve obtained it, we lost it- Luke 12:15-21
