Proposal for “EAT in Europe” Telecare Telemedicine Environmental Control Television receiver Communication Energy Management “ACTIVE SUPPORT ENVIRONMENT” Through a television (computer monitor) Flat touch screen Leisure activities Stimulation (cognitive impairment /dementia) Internet e-learning Virtual Community Goal planning Time- management Safety Proposal for “EAT in Europe” [Electronic Assistive Technology]

Aims If people with a cognitive disability can use this “Active Support Environment”, then people with physical disabilities and the ageing can also benefit PLUS mainstream. It will produce: Greater independence Self management Ability to stay in own home longer Less dependence on carers Proposal for “EAT in Europe” [Electronic Assistive Technology]

Achieved through: Using existing technologies Combining technologies and using ONE simple interface Developing a standard interface – using graphics and touch monitor (overcoming barriers to non-text readers and language) Proposal for “EAT in Europe” [Electronic Assistive Technology]
