Lights Free Friday Wade’s Earth Week

Draining Energy Keeping the lights on in a room can drain energy. Energy is produced from natural resources such as gas or coal, so when the energy is being wasted, so are those natural resources.

What Can You Do? Remember to turn the lights off before leaving a room. This is the easiest way to conserve energy.

What Options Are There Now? There are actually more advanced ways of lighting that can help this problem. You may notice it in your school already. There are motion sense lights that can detect when a person is in the room. If a person is not, the light will turn off on its own.
