Conferences Information will be coming home soon about signing up for your parent/ teacher conferences. Conferences will be scheduled through Parent Portal on- line this year! You will be able to begin signing up for conferences on October 10th! Conferences are scheduled for October 24th & 25th! A pre-conference form will also be coming home about a week before conferences. We only have a 10 minute conference, so this allows us to focus on the things that are the most important to you. I look forward to meeting with you! Technology Update All websites and resources can be found on our class website, as well as on the inside cover of students’ planners. Please let me know if you are unable to log on to any of the websites. I encourage students to use these websites like Raz-Kids and Study Island to help support what they are learning in the classroom! We will be logging in here in class to get students more comfortable using these resources! What are we learning? Math – Topic 2: Multiplication Facts (0,1,2,5,9,10), Topic 3: Multiplication Facts (3,4,6,7,8), Topic 4: Use Multiplication to Divide Reading – Asking & Answering Questions, Author’s Purpose, Sequence, & Context Clues (Non-Fiction!) Writing – Paragraphs & Informational Writing Spelling – 2 Activities & glue words each week for homework! Students are tested Fridays! Science – Weather & Climate Social Studies – Communities & Government Health – Fire Safety Month & Mindfullness October 1st – Basic Skills Begins October 3rd – Back-to-School Night October 4th – Assembly October 5th – Etch Farms Field Trip October 8th – In-Service/No School October 12th – Assembly October 17th – Fire Safety House October 24th & 25th – Conferences October 24th - 26th – ½ Days October 31st – Halloween Parade & Class Celebration! Homework Great job on completing homework on time and earning your homework stickers. Just a few reminders; Always make sure your name & number is on your work! Please bring your Homework Planner & Folder to school everyday! If you’re not sure what to do or forget your homework, call your homework buddy or check our class website! Remember to use Envisions website for homework help in math! Your usernames and passwords are in your Homework Planners! Remember if you earn 3 stickers in a row for having all of your homework completed and turned in on time, you win a prize! Always do your best work!! Reminders Please consider placing your first Scholastic Orders online! The next order will be submitted on Friday, October 31st! Our class Halloween party will be on Wednesday, October 31st! More information to come once Room Parents are assigned! There will also be a parade that day if students wish to dress up! Parents can come take pictures and watch students sing!
