Impact Evaluation: Results Minnesota Reading Corps - A Strong Return on Investment February 22, 2018 Impact Evaluation: Results Reading Corps is replicable in multiple school settings using AmeriCorps members with varied backgrounds. Students who received Reading Corps tutoring achieved significantly higher literacy assessment scores than students who did not. Reading Corps tutoring resulted in statistically closing the gap in groups with higher risk factors (ethnicity, Dual Language Learners, Free/Reduced-Price Lunch, lower starting scores).

Minnesota Reading Corps - A Strong Return on Investment February 22, 2018 Illustrating Impact ESSA Goals for English (Dual Language) Learners Young students in Reading Corps make significantly better early literacy growth, but EL students benefit more. Pre- Kindergarten: Rhyming - **Almost 5x the growth for EL students! Vocabulary -  **More than 10x the growth for EL students! Elementary: Kindergarten - **Almost 3x stronger impact on EL students  1st Grade - **More than 2x stronger impact on EL students

Extending to 3rd Grade Proficiency Minnesota Reading Corps - A Strong Return on Investment February 22, 2018 Extending to 3rd Grade Proficiency Location Example Districts Outcome Greater Minnesota West Central and Nicollet Schools Over 70% of students who reached proficiency were served by Reading Corps. Large Districts Duluth and St. Cloud Over 250 Reading Corps students reached proficiency (36% of all proficient students) Urban Districts Minneapolis and St. Paul Over 48% of all proficient students were served by Reading Corps. Proficiency of successful Reading Corps students exceeded district proficiency rates.
