My Path

"We stand on the brink of a technological revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work and relate to one another. In its scale, scope and complexity, the transformation will be unlike anything humankind has experienced before. We do not yet know just how it will unfold, but one thing is clear, the response to it must be integrated and comprehensive." (KLAUS SCHWAB - 2016 )

What is My Path? Developed by QTAC My Path is a free online tool which is simple and easy to use, taking the guess work out of subject selection and simplifies what can be an overwhelming activity for many students

Aim: to encourage students to reflect on career pathways which may be 'most like them' or 'least like them' as aligned with eight "Future Job Clusters"

Present a summary of jobs based on: Future Job Clusters Present a summary of jobs based on: the capabilities associated with each cluster capabilities required in Australia using the Australian and New Zealand Classification of Occupations alignment with certain occupations critical in the workplace of the future

What does My Path do? The tool works to identify a student’s capabilities through a series of questions relating to students' strengths and interests. My Path then identifies capabilities which best suit the individual student, and from there three main things can be done: -Identify ATAR eligibility through subject selection -Identify prerequisites for tertiary study -Create a set plan

Capabilities: Future capabilities required in the workplace of the future have been identified based on extensive national and international research. These capabilities represent the essential skills, knowledge and personal attributes that will be required to access employment and move between jobs and careers as the world changes.

40 questions: These

Feedback:

My Path outcome: I Clusters offers one filter for students to use to reduce course options, filtering based on capability preferences. Students can also use field of study, institution, location and specific search terms to filter the 1,700 QTAC courses. The outcome is a study plan which can be saved, changed, discussed and printed for final sign-off.

Where do I find My Path? Go to the QTAC website: qtac.edu.au
