Targets, Data and Reporting

Targets at KS4 Target Grades –Best case scenario from the analysis of the performance of similar students. Target based on prior attainment and contextual information. Should be recorded in Student Planner. Targets set at start of the course - previous methodology Fischer Family Trust Model D – Ofsted recognised. 2015 – introduction of single minimum target grade using an Oaklands method. Professional judgement overrides methodology in some cases . A target – not a prediction. l

Change for Y10 2018-19 All GCSEs will be grades 9-1( not Health and Social Care) New gold standard grade will be 5 ( rather than a C grade as is now). However 9-4 quoted and comparable with old A*-C figures.

Ofqual news on Grades 9-1 Broadly the same proportion of students will achieve a grade 4 and above as currently achieve a grade C and above Broadly the same proportion of students will achieve a grade 7 and above as currently achieve an A and above For each examination, the top 20 per cent of those who get grade 7 or above will get a grade 9 – the very highest performers The bottom of grade 1 will be aligned with the bottom of grade G Grade 5 will be positioned in the top third of the marks for a current Grade C and bottom third of the marks for a current Grade B. This will mean it will be of greater demand than the present grade C, and broadly in line with what the best available evidence tells us is the average PISA performance in countries such as Finland, Canada, the Netherlands and Switzerland

Predicted Grades Staff generate these in March, Summer of Y10 then Autumn , February and May of Year 11. Psychology and personality – variation sometimes (with actual outcome). Evaluation of accuracy of final predictions – compared with outcomes. We need to get this right – as a school we allocate resources based on predictions.

Assessment Calendar Half termly present attainment grades, learning behaviour grades and homework grades. Autumn term of Year 10 - Target grades and Subject Comments.
