Calculating NET FORCE (Right) How do we calculate net force? When forces act in the same direction- add the strengths of the individual forces -When forces act in opposite directions- 1. cancel out the equal pairs 2. find the direction with the larger force 3. subtract the small number from the larger number -When the forces are the same there is no net force. -To balance the forces 1. Equal out each PAIR of arrows by either adding/subtracting from ONE side of the pair
