Brer Possum’s Dilemma: déjà vu? Students will identify and list parallel episodes in the folktale, “Brer Possum’s Dilemma.” Follow the directions below to complete the activity. After reading “Brer Possum’s Dilemma,” return to the text and find the parallel episodes. Open the Popplet app and create first a centerpiece for your graphic organizer and make this bubble a unique color. As you add bubble extensions which represent and describe the parallel episodes represented in the story, choose one reoccurring color for the extension bubbles that is different from your center bubble. Be sure all parts of your organizer can be clearly seen on the page. Take a screen shot. Retrieve screen shot from photos and raise your hand so that your teacher may come check it. A student writer will list different episodes on the board as the teacher finds potential new ones. We will discuss results as a whole class.
