Isthmus This is a narrow strip of land that connects two large areas of land mass In 1513, Balboa and other explorers made their way West across the Isthmus of Panama which connects North and South America
Plateau A plain in the mountains or height considerably above sea level An area of flat land that is higher than the land around it
