If one author (last name, year) If 2 authors (last name and last name, year) in alphabetical order If more than 2 authors choose the author that’s last name is first alphabetically ( last name, year) If can not find author ( Title* , year) For any of the citations if the year published can not be found just do author’s last name or title. * Do not write out the whole title, short to first couple words http://www.globalchange.umich.edu/globalchange1/current/lectures/kling/ecosystem/ecosystem.html

Step 1: Copy and paste the site’s URL into the website search box and Cite it.

Step 2: Fill in as much missing information as you can before you create the citation

Step 3: Copy and paste citation into Work Cited Page at end of essay into alphabetical order

Common Mistakes - Citations There are to be NO quotations in your writing. Everything must be paraphrased and cited at the end of the paraphrase. Easy to tell if rewrite a sentence and alter one word. You should read a section and then summarize that section without looking at the article. If you use the words proved , research, studies have shown, etc. then you must have a citation after these sentences. Include work cited on own page and in alphabetical order.

Common Mistakes – Writing Claims need to be clear! I should be able to read the first paragraph and know your claim and why. Make a claim and stick with that claim throughout the essay. Do not go against your claim when you are explain how you argument fits in with the ethics principles. Reduce number of maybe’s, could’s and possibliy’s . Find the evidence and research and cite it. Give examples in the writing. A lot of times you write “ some other drugs. Or some other methods.” Give examples “ some other drugs, such as….. OR some other methods, such as…..”

Final Draft Final Essay needs to be typed. You can email it to me or bring it in on a flash drive. DUE Friday Feb 3rd
