Manufacturer Usage Descriptions draft-ietf-opsawg-mud-07 Lear, et al

Changes since last call draft-ietf-netmod-acl underwent substantial changes No mandatory components Has to do with different ways ACLs are implemented (can one mix IPv4 and IPv6 in the same ACL, for instance?) Mostly doesn’t affect us, except Do we want to even allow naked IP addresses in MUD files? We really want people to use the MUD abstractions A small amount of text about this is still needed Change to modularize inbound and outbound policies Allows more more than just ACLs (QoS, detnet, other) Future proofs Indirection always adds a bit more complexity – please review. Move direction-initiated to TCP. It is all too common that determining direction is difficult for other than TCP (and even TCP is a bit questionable) 1

Things that need doing Examples need updating still Some bit of text to talk about features from draft-ietf-netmod-acl- model Please review the extension mechanism. This has to be reasonably well baked. Next update due in two weeks. MUD file maker update will follow that change. More open source on the way Will request another LC once ACL model is past 2
