Gatsby’s dream is a corruption of the American Dream 1 Gatsby’s dream is a corruption of the American Dream 1.Gatsby’s obsession with Daisy symbolizes the American Dream. 2. The image of him as a lone figure reaching for the green light demonstrates him striving for the object of his desire.

Gatsby’s dream is a corruption of the American Dream 3 Gatsby’s dream is a corruption of the American Dream 3. The fact that Gatsby strives for Daisy (a shallow, snobbish, fickle character) reflects the corruption of the American dream as it has become focused on the shallow pursuit of wealth. 4. By showing no moral regret at the destruction of a marriage, Gatsby has turned the dream into individual satisfaction and not reaping the benefit of hard work.
