National Industrial Recovery Act ( NIRA ) Article The National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA) was an unusual experiment in U.S. history, as it suspended antitrust laws and supported an alliance of industries Employees were given the right to organize unions and could not be required, as a condition of employment, to join or to refrain from joining a labor organization.

Social Security Act ( SSA ) Article The SSA guaranteed an income for the unemployed and retirees The act has remained relatively unchanged since 1935

Civilian Conservation Corps ( CCC ) Article The CCC employed 2.5 million men to work and maintain forests, parks, and beaches. The CCC only paid $1 a day, but provided job training to men, and eventually women. This helped boost self- esteem and how to live independently.
