How to identify editorial articles Library Research Skills Tutorial

Editorials are short articles, usually between 1-5 pages long, that present an opinion about a specific subject or commentary about a previously published article.

Editorials are not peer-reviewed, scholarly, or academic articles, but you will find them in academic journals.

Editorials may not be obvious from the search results

These are both editorials from the Discovery Search

But only one indicates that the article is an editorial

Clicking on the title in the results list…

…shows that this is an editorial letter and not a scholarly article
