Presentation transcript:

Lords Resistance Army Strategy Primary goal is to overthrow Ugandan President Yoweri Musevni Religious terrorism Located in Uganda, South Sudan, and Central African Republic

Military Style Raids Primary target is civilian towns and refugee camps Objective is to loot supplies and recruit youth to increase members Raids are deemed to be successful as long as supplies are gathered and fear is inspired unto the populace

Savagery and Torture Primary trademark of LRA is cutting off of limbs and removal of noses, lips, and ears These permanent scars serve as a reminder to all the capabilities of the LRA Large reports of kidnapping women for sexual slavery All of this is done to create an environment of fear

Child Soldiers LRA regularly raids schools and refugee camps with the purpose of kidnapping children Strict indoctrination process in which children are turned into soldiers Children serve as vulnerable targets for mass recruitment and lower threshold for indoctrination

Current Position LRA strength at an all-time low due to successful military campaigns The organization has been pushed beyond Uganda and scattered Largely unsuccessful in accomplishing political goals
