Preparation for the 2nd Coming

Paul placed emphasis on preparation for the 2nd Coming 27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:27-28

The Future

Hebrews 10:32-39 32 But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: 33 partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; 34 for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven. 35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

Hebrews 10:32-39 37 “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. 38 Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” 39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.

The Christian life is a life of Faith Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. Hebrews 10:35

The Christian life is a life of Faith For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 1 John 5:4

The Christian life is a life of Faith 15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:15-17

The Christian life is a life of Faith But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. Hebrews 10:39

Lessons for Us Today

Christ is coming again so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:28

Christ’s 2nd Coming should motivate us to live godly eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; Romans 2:7

Conclusion Are you motivated to live faithfully till Christ returns? Only those who do so will receive the crown of life, which is eternal life with God. Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. Revelation 2:10
