The Industry’s Effect on the Economy Multiplier Effect: opening a new business creates secondary jobs, which in turn encourages further business activity I.e. sports arena Canteen clerks Custodians Personal trainers Restaurant managers Necessary Leakage: much of the money spent by tourists (air fares) remains in the originating market or goes to tourism-related businesses outside the community SO, how can we enhance the economy of the tourist destination?
