ABOUT THE COMPANY Ark-on is the very high experienced Russian company in the industry of precise surveys and 3D modelling using laser scanning method (LIDAR). Ark-on offers all types of precise surveys and 3D modelling of industrial and power plants, infrastructural objects and all kind of territories. Ark-on has implemented an efficient quality management system, certified by ISO 9001 standart.

CUSTOMERS AND VOLUMES OF OUTPUT Among Ark-on customers are biggest Russian and CIS companies - GAZPROM, TRANSNEFT, FGC UES, Russian Railroads. Ark-on participated in more than 120 projects for Russian and foreign customers. The most known of them are: inventory of Moscow region power line system, designing of infrastructure for SOCHY 2014 Winter Olympic Games, engineering of pipelines (ESPO, Baltic Pipeline System, Yakutia – Khabarovsk). Total area of surveyed territory – more than 1 800 000 hectares. Total length of infrastructural corridors – more than 30 000 km during last 5 years. 90 % of survey and basic processing workflow operations are completely automatic. It is possible for us because of a fine tuning of methodology, best hardware and software solutions and qualified specialists.

PRODUCTS GEOSPATIAL DATA - 3D models of any types of objects (natural or artificial). - Super detailed digital elevation models (DEMS). - Photo plans with very high resolution (up to 3 cm). - Vector GIS data and geodatabases. - Precise topographic plans and maps. - Virtual models. ANALYSIS - Spatial databases of geometric parameters of wires, power line towers, vegetation, construction extents, etc. - Databases of correspondence between actual constructions and project design. - GIS-analysis. - Calculations of volumes, slopes, visibility, object dynamics. - Long-term monitoring of deformations and change detection. - Complete implementation of geoinformation systems (GIS). All data is located in global and/or national coordinate systems. Final data is offered for the customer in 2D (plans) or 3D (models) CAD data formats (like AutoCAD), GIS data formats (like ARC GIS) and raster data formats (like TIFF).

SPECIALITIES OF WORKFLOW All surveys of natural or industrial objects and territories are performed using LASER SCANNING (LIDAR) – it can be done from air, from mobile vehicle, a ship or by feet (static positions). Main principals of laser scanning is similar to radars, but instead of radiowaves the impulse laser is used. The laser scanning system produce up to 600 000 3D points per second, automatically located in global coordinate system. Digital imagery acquisition is being done simultaneously. The surveyed object can be on a distance from 2 to 4000 meters. Everything, that can be seen by the eye on such distances, can be scanned. Vegetation, darkness, small gaps between construction elements are not a problem for laser scanning. You will get good quality model of relief even under 20-m forest. The workflow requires only very few field activity. Major part of efforts is done in the office or onboard of the vehicle. All surveys are remote, that is very important in inhabited regions or near dangerous objects.

QUALITY, ABUNDANCY, SPEED The precision of surveyed 3D data is from 1-2 mm to 5-10 cm in local or global coordinate systems. Scanning density – from 30 points/m2 for airborn laser scanning to 1000 000 points/m2 for static terrain scanning. Image resolution – 3-10 cm. This is 10-20 times better than Google Earth data. All images can be acquires in visible (RGB), near-infrared (CIR) or thermal spectral channels. The productivity of 1 survey system is: - Up to 20 000 hectares – for airborn laser scanning (common land, or cities, or forests, etc.) - Up to 200 line kilometers – for mobile laser scanning (power lines, rail roads, roads and streets, etc) - Up to 20 hectares – for terrestrial laser scanning (powerplants, power stations, buildings and constructions, unique objects, airports, etc)

WHY LASER SCANNING 1. IT IS CHEAPER The price of survey and modelling of objects is 1.5 - 3 times lower in comparison with classic technologies. 2. IT IS FASTER Total productivity of surveying and data processing using 3D laser scanning systems is 2-4 times faster than stereoprocessing of simple aerial images or classic geodetic surveys. 3. GREAT PRECISION Laser scanning precision is very near to normal geodetic surveys, because it is based on the same principles. In forested regions laser scanning has no alternative. 4. UNIQUE FEATURES Laser scanning allows us to survey in 3D wires and small hanging objects (like isolators), that can not be surveyed using other methods. 5. FLEXIBILITY Vegetation, haze, low clouds, night time do not make any influence on the workflow. The harshness of terrain makes no effect on the results. 6. VERSATILITY Laser scanning can be performed from nearly any vehicle – plane, helicopter, car, boat, trolley, train, and by feet.

ELECTRIC POWER INDUSTRY POWER SYSTEMS 1. Surveys of hanging powerlines (wires, towers, crossings) of any voltage. During 1 year it is possible to survey up to 30 000 line kilometers of powerlines for the purpose of inventory, dimensions (between wires, vegetation, other objects), power tower geometry control, etc. 2. Surveys of power substations, power plants, dams, reservoir’s basins of hydroelectric power stations.

OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY 1. Surveying for projecting of new or reconstruction of existing pipeline systems of any origin. 2. Inspections of existing pipeline systems, compressor stations, oil refinery plants for inventory and geometry diagnostics.

CONSTRUCTION AND ARCHITECTURE 1. High-detail surveys and modelling for projecting and architectural planning of a landscape. 2. Tracking of construction process and dimensions, control of results. 3. “Digital conservation” of unique buildings and constructions.

RAILROADS RAIL ROADS 1. Surveys of rails, contact networks, platforms, automated devices (with details up to millimeters) for deformation detection, renovation planning, inventory and optimization of management. 2. Surveys of railstations, bridges and other constructions for engineering and architectural purposes.

ROADS ROADS 1. Surveys of road surface and nearby objects for defining deformations, damages, projecting, analytical modelling of road situations and increasing of road safety. 2. Surveys of ramps, overcrossings, highway junctions and bridges for the same purposes.

WHY ARKON Our experience and data quality are reputed by more than 70 customer companies in Russia. We do not only use existing solutions, but we regularly perform methodology and scientific researches to improve our workflow and satisfy constantly increasing demands of our customers. Ark-on is the only Russian company which can use up to 10 laser scanning systems on 1 project simoltaneously (airborn, mobile and terrestrial). Our hardware has very high productivity and robustness. We use solutions of the best world manufacturers of this type of hardware - LEICA, RIEGL, TRIMBLE.
