The Sixth Sense and the Wear Ur World Prototype By: Rachel Peeler

Sixth Sense Device Designed by students at MIT, who recently released the prototype The future of multi-touch devices A step up from the iPhone and the Microsoft Surface Research aimed at creating the new “sixth sense” for humans

Design The battery-powered projector is attached to a hat, the webcam is hung around the neck (or also on a hat), and the mobile phone provides the connection to the Internet.

Functions Wear Ur World prototype (WUW) Ability to access information by turning any flat surface into a touch-screen display

Functions The screen can be projected onto your hand or another person

Abilities and Uses Provide product and price comparison information when shopping Retrieve flight information to let the wearer know about delays Automatically pull up related information from the Web when requested Take pictures when you frame a subject with your fingers.

Concerns Bulky design Privacy Driving

Conclusions This group at MIT was thinking about how a person could be more integrated into the world around them and access information without having to do something like take out a phone. They had created other similar products, but they believe that this one has the most potential to become a part of every day life.
