We will also use illustrations as well as words to understand the characters, setting, and plot of a story. We will also look closer at illustrations and their meaning. WEEKLY HOMEWORK Writing Choose a writing prompt from the October calendar Math Math: Money Word Problems We will learn how to solve word problems using dimes, nickels, and pennies using the cents symbol. IXL Practice counting coin combinations using coins from home Writing: Personal Narratives We will use all that we have learned about small moments to edit, revise, and begin new personal narratives. Spelling Choose an activity from the October Spellers Choice Activities Reading Read for 20 minutes (every day) - picture walk the story and tell what is happening before reading the story Raz Kids Science: Seasons We will compare and contrast seasonal changes using evidence of length of day/ night and using observational data related to how a tree changes over time.
