Chapter 1, Lesson 3 TEST ON LESSONS 1-3 on 9/6/13 (FRIDAY) MEASUREMENT Chapter 1, Lesson 3 TEST ON LESSONS 1-3 on 9/6/13 (FRIDAY)

Why do all scientists use the same measurement system? The metric system is a measurement system based on the number 10. Scientists use a version of the metric system called SI (International System of Units) Why? So scientists can fairly compare and communicate data with each other.

What are some SI units of measure? Length = meter Mass = kilogram (amount of matter in an object) Volume = Liter or cubic meter Density= kilograms per cubic meter (how much mass in a given volume) Temperature = Kelvins (sometimes Celsius) Time = Second
