How to Write Source Cards for Research Papers The Research Paper

What is a Source Card? A source card contains a source you plan to use to strengthen the statements in your paragraph. Our sources will include the following: Articles from websites Textbook (The Language of Literature) Research paper must have at least three sources which will appear on the WORKS CITED PAGE. Since you will not write a “paper” per say, your works cited page will be located in the credits of you presentation

What is a Source Card? There’s nothing hard about creating a source card for a research paper, in fact, it will probably be the easiest thing you will be asked to do throughout this process Things to keep in mind while completing your sources cards: -PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO FORMAT -LISTEN CLOSELY FOR DIRECTION -DO NOT OVER THINK THIS! IF YOUR CARD DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THE EXAMPLES I GIVE YOU, GO BACK AND ANALYZE YOUR WORK AGAINST THE SAMPLES

Lucky You * In today’s articles, mostly online virtual libraries the work has already been done for you!!! If you look on the last page of most of your articles, the article has already been cited. There may be a slight difference in their format than what you will learn today but it’s fine to use theirs too. All you have to do is change the access date to 12 Nov 2015and copy it down on the index card in the correct format.

Make sure the source number always goes in the top right hand corner of the index card Remember, this source card number should match the numbers on your articles. You should have 1 source card per article. For example, if you have 6 articles, you will have 6 source cards
