How do I know what it important? How do I even know what is environmental? How do I know what it important?

What will we cover in environmental science? Biology Zoology-Study of animals Botany- Study of plants Microbiology- Study of microorganisms (tiny) Ecology-Study of how all of the above affect each other

Earth Science Geology Study of Earth’s- surface, interior, history, processes (volcanoes, etc) Paleontology-Study of fossils and ancient life Climatology- Study of Earth’s atmosphere and climate Hydrology- Study of Earth’s water resources

Physics Engineering- Using science to make sense of how matter and energy are useful to humans- in structures, machines, products

Chemistry Biochemistry-Study of chemistry of living things Geochemistry- Study of chemistry of materials- rocks, soil, water (part of geology)

Social Science Geography- Study of the relationship between human populations and Earth’s features (deserts, mountains, etc) Anthropology- Study of interactions of biological, cultural, geographical, and historical aspects of humankind Sociology- Study of human population dynamics and statistics
