[ Considering of Intra-cell multiple CBP response] March 2009 doc.: IEEE 802.22-09-0080-01-0000 March 2009 [ Considering of Intra-cell multiple CBP response] IEEE P802.22 Wireless RANs Date: 2009-03-11 Authors: Notice: This document has been prepared to assist IEEE 802.22. Patent Policy and Procedures: The contributor is familiar with the IEEE 802 Patent Policy and Procedures http://standards.ieee.org/guides/bylaws/sb-bylaws.pdf including the statement "IEEE standards may include the known use of patent(s), including patent applications, provided the IEEE receives assurance from the patent holder or applicant with respect to patents essential for compliance with both mandatory and optional portions of the standard." Early disclosure to the Working Group of patent information that might be relevant to the standard is essential to reduce the possibility for delays in the development process and increase the likelihood that the draft publication will be approved for publication. Please notify the Chair Carl R. Stevenson as early as possible, in written or electronic form, if patented technology (or technology under patent application) might be incorporated into a draft standard being developed within the IEEE 802.22 Working Group. March 2009 doc.: IEEE 802.22-09-0080-01-0000 March 2009 Abstract This document questioned intra-cell multiple CBP response which yields collision of CBP transmission, namely intra-cell collision or self collision. This document is related with CID #405 Chang-Joo Kim, ETRI Chang-Joo Kim, ETRI

Question for CID #405 CBP multi-response problem March 2009 The “face-to-face CPEs” case: Beacons can be transmitted and received by the face-to-face CPEs associated with different neighbor cells. When multiple CPEs are located in faced area, BS would be received multiple responses Chang-Joo Kim, ETRI

Question for CID #405 CBP multi-response problem March 2009 The “back-to-back CPEs” case: Beacons transmitted by the BSs can be received by CPEs associated with the neighbor cells When multiple CPEs are located in back-to-back area, BS would be received multiple responses Chang-Joo Kim, ETRI

Question for CID #405 CBP multi-response problem March 2009 CBP Sensing antenna reception case When the CPEs are received by using sensing antenna, multiple response will be occurred frequently due to the Rx range of sensing antenna Chang-Joo Kim, ETRI

Conclusions Resolution for CBP multi-response problem March 2009 Obviously, this multiple response yields collision of CBP transmission, namely intra-cell collision or self collision. To cope this problem, A CPE can report to its BS by message based CBP information reports, but additional resources are required. Employ “Master CPE” or “CBP relay CPE” and address related sentence Others? Chang-Joo Kim, ETRI
