It represents an answer to life’s most problematic issue…

…an answer to the human predicament.....

…but there are others who believe they have found a more effective answer and...

…they are almost right!

Answers to the Human Predicament Today’s text outlines the two most prolific....

1 Corinthians 1:22-24 “For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block…

…and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

Works “For Jews request a sign...”

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Wisdom “Greeks seek after wisdom.”

The inadequacy to both of these is that they fail to get to the heart of the matter, literally.

Sin is a matter of the Heart!
