Picture Books Where could you find this book? Picture books are arranged in the white bins in alphabetical order by title. Where could you find this book?

Elementary Fiction Elementary fiction is on the shelves to the right against the wall. They are organized in alphabetical order by the author’s last name.

Elementary Nonfiction Elementary nonfiction books are organized using the Dewey Decimal System. The sections are divided with signs.

The Dewey Decimal System The Dewey Decimal System is divided up into several sections. There are signs at the beginning of each section. Each book has a number that corresponds to where the book should be found on the shelf.

Nonfiction Book Labels Nonfiction books are labeled with numbers that correspond with the Dewey System. They also have the first three letters of the author’s last name below the Dewey numbers like this: 513 Dah
